USA Warning to Russia: Inevitable Sharp Reaction

Threats fly between Russia and the United States. 

The US Ambassador to the Ukrainian Government warns of a "inevitable, sharp reaction" by the US if Russian troops should cross into the Ukrainian borders. Despite concerns of Russia's own threat of retaliation towards Washington DC over the newest release of US and EU sanctions. 

Russia's statements followed quickly after sanctions tuesday with a seemingly narrow phrase of "A response of Moscow will follow, and it will be painfully felt in Washington D.C."

The newest round of political arguments have been steadily downgrading into threatening statements from both sides of the Ukrainian crisis, with Russia pointing fingers at the EU for backing the United States so-called "disgusting" actions against Russia. While the US has been implementing harsh sanctions along with the UK and Canada, Russian troops still continue to patrol on the borders of Ukraine. 

Watchful eyes are upon Russia, waiting for the next actions of response from Putin's regime. The timing could be quicker than expected, if Russia plans to invade, US response to such a move could have irreversible effects, causing a third world war. Even if one side or the other should follow through with escalating actions, it would seem each is prepared to act in response. 

IS AMERICA PREPARED FOR WAR?

The US is already engaged throughout the Middle East, with troops in Afghanistan, Yemen and elsewhere. Even sending in roughly 600 troops to Poland to help establish protective measures against a possibility of a reckless move from Russia. 

While the Geneva accord left very few bargaining chips on the table for Russia, the US seems to be willing to stand up to Russian military if needed. Even though statements from political leaders of America plainly bolster that the use of American military was not an option, the continued escalating circumstances have yet again seen the US make almost clear threats of military use.

America is currently in a economic downturn, and with its particular situation, questions of military use couldn't come at a worse time. The financial blunders of the Iraqi war, and huge deficit dividends towards China leaves one to question if America can afford to pay for a military clash with Russia. 

If in the event of a sudden military action in the ukraine from the US, it would need to be a decisive and quick move. It's doubtful the US would want to climb into bed with a out of control conflict with a country as powerful as Russia. Options are few and far between at this point, leading up to a conflict with Russia as a certain outcome if current political standoffs continue. 

If America is ready for a full scale conflict, it would mean furthering the national debt, and deeper economic decline before things even really heat up.

WHY THE UKRAINE AND NOT SYRIA?

An honest observation from a commenter I read on cnn, stated a question amongst other things pertaining to the Ukrainian crisis and the Syrian war. "Why is America now so willing to stand up to the Russian threat, when the USA made a quick bow out on the Syrian situation?"

It wasn't just too long ago the US backed away from the escalating tensions in Syria when Russia made equipment started flowing into the Syrian conflict, and the Chinese government quietly said no. Rightfully so, please don't get me wrong but we do have bigger issues in America then to run to the aid of a internal development in Syria.

Some people have been saying openly that we are backing out of the Ukraine issue as well, possibly with a threat here and there beforehand, but as far as a response to the Ukrainian crisis, we seem to be where we were before. Standing on the lines behind the scenes of the Ukraine and then to the next situation.

Leaving a bigger problem with a seemingly less likely positive outcome for the areas we were in.

In fact, the only real response we have applied ourselves correctly to was in my opinion Yemen and the assassination of Osama bin Laden. Mainly due to the fact that we made a quick in and out, we accomplished a task and then we were done. I recognize that Sadam Hussain could have been a quick and quiet mission if we weren't worried about who would take his place.

So why are we so willing to fight for the Ukrainian people? What is a common answer is that it's not the ukraine that we are trying to help, but the billions of dollars in fossil fuel travelling through the Ukrainians backyards. The comments box in the UK as the main reason for the USA to be up in Putin's face, mainly because the UK would be the next effected by Russia's grasp on EU fuel flowing through the Ukraine.

Russia Threatens Washington DC Over New Sanctions

In the most recent turns of events, the USA threw down heavy sanctions against key Russian players inside of Putin's realm. With added heavy handed sanctions against 17 Russian companies and Russian government officials, all strengthened by more sanctions from Canada and soon from the EUROPEAN Union.

These sanctions are hard lined to cause further decline in the Russian economy, but the results of these sanctions will take time to see if they have any effect. As of now, billionaires in Russia have already found loopholes around previous sanctions,  and have routed the financial crisis for themselves, leaving the public to squander on its own.

Sergey Ryabkov, the so called deputy minister for foreign relations in Russia, called the sanctions "meaningless, shameful, and disgusting." "It will only intensify all the processes in Ukraine which it intends to change or stop," Ryabkov told CNN, speaking English. "It is yet another sign of a reckless behavior of the U.S. administration. No lessons are learned from the past. The U.S. does literally nothing to impress its cronies and clients in Kiev on whom there is full responsibility for constant deterioration of the situation in Ukraine. This is what needs to be changed and not the policy of Russia"

What exactly that threat is or will become isn't clear. Nonsense perhaps, the wiggling tongue of rhetoric called Russian diplomacy, or actual threats that may evolve into a serious problem? What Russia is capable of as far as a response isn't clear, and with the mounting sanctions deposed against Russia, we could very well see a reprisal to match the tensions caused by the situation at hand.

Theories of a Russian attack, militarily is floating around the internet, but Russian capabilities of reaching America could only be reached with nuclear weapons. As much as Russia is capable of, it doesn't have the proper firepower or the resources to meet such a demand.

A threat is a threat of course, and the challenge is on Russia to follow up with that threat or continue with hollow intimidating statements that carry on Russia's impotent demeanour. Leaving out more chances for a diplomatic avenue of resolve, Russia continues to burn a bridge of a peaceful end to the Ukrainian crisis.

What Russia doesn't realize

The failure of Russia to try a different approach in the Ukrainian issue has left deep wounds subject to cause even further isolation and harsher economic turmoil for the Russian people. In combination of all of Russia's statements and policies on any form of diplomatic resolve continues to hinder Russia's chance to walk away with dignity.

Questions concerning the Ukrainian borders heavily saturated with Russian troops and tactics of intimidating actions are quickly sinking Russia into a no win situation. The SU-35 flyovers of intimidation on the US Donald Cook, and other flyovers above areas in the Ukrainian issue has been hurtful for Russia.

Russia has lost a tremendous amount of money, time, and most of all political backings. Leaving Russia to basically sweat it out under the bright lights of the World's most powerful countries. The actions of Russia have undermined their chances of success in all possible outcomes.

What Russia doesn't realize is that furthering it's tactics in such a way, shines a light upon Putin and Russian government officials that levels them lower on a somewhat uneven scale.  If Russia continues to use such tactics, and doesn't find a better avenue that will provide a soft ending to the situation,  it could very well end up having much more to contend with than just the USA's incisive detorants. Russian allies are few and far between, and even China could very well turn it's back on Putin. Why? Because as this continues to unfold, Russia is placing itself into a quagmire of natural detest in the world community.
