Strong Coffee Opinionated Politics
I happen to love off-brand coffee. Cafe Bustelo, Caribe, and some other brand with a jungle cat on the packaging. I think it's Dominican. Anyways, nothing wakes me up like a strong cup of coffee. I mean strong, where you can almost "stand a spoon up in it" strong.
I've never been a fan of Folgers or Maxwell House. Give me a coffee that you can make an espresso with, toss in a touch of sugar, cream and I'm good. Americana style I guess. All I know is, I love good, hot, spoon corrosive, rich coffee. If you can turn on the news, or CSPAN, even better.

I hate politics. I will openly admit to this as fact. I can't stand politics. Nothing pisses me off more than political jargon and car-salesmen dressed asshats running our country.
Politics is like making a pot of coffee and just as soon as you pour a cup, you discover you have no sugar. Then you only stare into your cup and try to make it past the first few sips, until finally, having no choice, you either run to the store for sugar or say screw it and dump the pot. Which ever way you look at it, Politics can ruin your day!

Many years ago, I dated a woman from the Dominican Republic. She was actually a winning "Miss Dominican Republic of Santos Domingo" beauty queen, I think she won in 1988 or something.
Anyways, it was a short term relationship, but she turned me on to Hispanic coffees. We never had coffee from typical domestic sources. No Folgers or Maxwell house, just strong ass Dominican coffee. She would pour us a cup each and then sit and talk about her days living there as a beauty queen.

She was very attractive, but she never talked about anything else but her past life as a beauty queen. Over and over, I heard the stories of how she won and what she did after she won, and who tried to marry her and how she escaped a lifestyle of cocaine infused politics and partying to move to South Carolina, USA. (Questioned that idea, trust me)
After two months and dozens of conversations that all lead to the same drawn out stories, I broke up with her, but not before falling in love with the strong coffee brands we drank together.
Somewhere in the middle of starting this post, and two cups of coffee later, I think I might have lost my direction.
I was watching CNN and was in the middle of my first cup when I thought I should write a new post. I wasn't all that focused apparently, but somehow I figured politics and coffee went hand in hand. So here I am, with a caffeine induced daffiness for literature without a compass.
Sometimes when I write, I just write. I have no true direction. No set principle, no material, no real obligation or motive beyond just wanting to write.
Apologies all around, if you are reading this.
Perhaps now would be a good time to join me in a 3rd cup of coffee.
Many of my posts tend to be about things I find important, from Ferguson, to Russia, to China, to politics and Obama. I just put down in digital type my thoughts and wisdom, after first drinking a few energy filled cups of brewed bravery. Although I openly admit I know most of my posts are adherent towards my opinions, today though, I find myself just wanting to say a few things, log off and maybe take a hike into the mountains behind where I live.
Sip, sip...
My first opinion for today has to do with what I call back-pocket racism. This is a label I place on the majority of the republican party who is steadfast against Obama. I firmly believe Obama would not be facing half of the gridlock he's facing if he wasn't black.(Yep I said it) Bill Clinton didn't have half of the issues Obama is facing, and Obama is almost exactly where Bill was during his seasons of President.
I mean, looking back at the Government Shutdowns during Bill and now Obama, it's almost a pure cloning of circumstances. Bill managed to pull it off though, even reviled in the situation. Anyone remember Bill's video of him riding a bicycle through the White house's office departments? You know, when he walked around saying hello, looking for office personnel? I remember....
Anyways, I think the world would be better off if Republicans would just come out of the closet with their racism for Obama and admit to it openly. Then maybe America would better understand why there is so much bullsh*t happening in our political system now-a-days. I mean, let's face it, Republicans are the same people who had issues with Tiger Woods playing Golf.
God I miss Robin Williams! I can hear him now in his best rich guy voice, from his "Live on Broadway" DVD. "Dear God they're playing golf" And his thought about "Pimped-out Golf Carts"...
Secondly, I'm looking forward to the introduction of the Micheal Brown law! Why the creation of this law had to take having this young man die is beyond me. I think it's just ridiculous we had to have a tragic happening like Ferguson, to come to the realization we needed this law. Hopefully though, this law will go into effect soon and we will see a change in police attitude. Accountability baby! I love it!
Coffee makes me redundant! How many times did I write the word law just now?
Ok, now onto my 4th cup.
Russia and the Ukraine. Last time American mainstream media did any coverage on this subject, Russia was invading with tanks and missile launchers. Then poof. Nothing.
What is happening is the Ukraine now? According to other news agencies from other places, not of American sources, Russia had set themselves up a line of defenses facing West against the remaining lands of Ukraine. Crimean people also were being told they had to become Russian or face not having simple things like healthcare and government assistance.
Basically, Russia seems to not care about the UN and is doing whatever they want. It would also seem America isn't doing anything about Russia either. As a whole, nobody is doing anything about Russia, period. Even with an airliner being shot down, nobody is doing anything at all. Malaysia is quiet and Australia hasn't said or done much either. All seems quiet as Russia just goes about it's motions of taking back Ukrainian land.
I wonder which country is next for Russia? If they can take back the whole of the Ukraine without much of an issue, what or who will stop them from further invasions?
I mean, if they have their way and can do what they are doing without hindrance, Russia might just keep moving forward. Who knows, maybe Poland's fears of Russia have credit after all. Maybe Jewish fears are real too, after all, this all seems a bit too familiar. Kinda like a replay of Germany's advancements into Poland, Hungary, Austria, France, and Russia. (not in that order, I know ) Only a more modernized version perhaps of annexation?
Enough about Russia, as I'm currently invading my 5th cup and emptying the pot.
So where was I? (Lost in my coffee cup at the moment)
Ebola? That's an interesting subject. I really had to wonder about the whole Ebola issue and our military being quarantined in Italy. That was dumb. Yes, lets piss off Italy's people. Wonderful idea there!
How about ISIS? That's a good subject for my coffee spurred online fodder.
Wait, ISIS is better written about when I'm not jittery and caffeinated.
I will say this though, I'm having a hard time figuring out if it's ISIS or ISIL?
What are we calling them now? The Islamic State? So where are these ISIS/ISIL abbreviations coming from? Wouldn't IS work better? ISIL stands for "Islamic State of Islam", which would break down to ISL, right? So, what is the correct abbreviation? ISL? ISIS? ISIL? IS?
I give up.
Sip, sip, sip, ahhhh....
Did anyone actually read all of this post?
If you did, thanks for your time, as I'm sure you didn't learn anything.
