Of Wool and Wolves

A Speech by an average American for America.

By Jeffrey Allen Kaufman

Eventually the wool slips off the face of "Democracy" and what is so utterly apparent, so ridiculously obvious, becomes so grossly evident beyond words, beyond the scope of explanation, and begs to be addressed.

We will no longer accept the unacceptable!

The demeanor, the disgusting discernible expense of gaining power and control, in the war politicians wage against one another for votes and endorsements, that, flowing like an utter spillover of unquenchable political energy, lies, and falsehoods, diminishes the very fabric of our Republic and Democracy. All in the name of earning a position to promote selfish agendas under the guise of an undying repetitive phenomenon called our government.

It's in this energy and determination that they exude for their elections, but cannot conjure for the people they serve, that we see as a potent reminder of contradiction in the service they are elected to deliver, and in the dereliction of which they deliver it.

A government that we no longer trust, or control, a government that votes themselves raises, enriching their own, while willing to battle endlessly against raising the minimal wage of our own people, is such a government that begs being addressed.

A government of such undeniable discourse and discouragement towards keeping their promise of fulfillment in their obligations to serve the American people, that we the people of America can no longer ignore, must be reminded who they serve.

Our leaders lead with distrustful words that no longer fulfill or promote unity. Its their lies that pour out of their created and unleashed political quagmire that we the people endlessly buy into, with the belief that tomorrow it may change, that perhaps one day we will see a light at the end of the tunnel of their dishevelled democracy.

Its their lies that drown what once was, destroys what is, and deteriorates what could become of America.

Is it not our hopeful elected elite, who continue tearing away at what once was our foundation of freedom?

OUR foundation of freedoms that have stood since the dawn of America, until now, divided by overburdened branches of political empowerment and discourse, must be diverted back in the favor of the people.

Do we not see the dismantling before our very eyes of what this great country once stood for, under the weights of their intransigence?

What lies? As I am sure I will be asked, what lies am I addressing?

The lies that we the people have control, that we have power, lies that our Constitution clearly states as truth, only realized through their actions, that what checks and balances remain, are truly only you and I.

Its the lies of our governance that spews from the mouths of politicians that we expect to resonate with truth, to guide our trust, and to lead us to greener pastures, that shows us evidence of their faltering honesty. Yet, those words no longer hold substance or value, because we know what we are told can no longer be trusted, to lead, guide, or transform America for the better.

We simply turn away, as if we prefer being blind or ignorant to what is so observable and evident! Is it not easier for us to digest, to live with, to bow down to, when we can just turn the other way with a shrug and a sigh?

Note by the author: I wrote this with the intention of igniting the smoldering ember of freedom burning in the basement of our American souls, in the hopes of turning a spark into a blaze, and a blaze into a storm.

My intention were not to ignite violence or disgraceful arrogance, but to ignite hope, and remind all who may read this that America isn't dead. America is alive and well in the hearts of everyday Americans, who agree with my words.

Have you not had enough? Have you not seen, heard, and been witness to enough, to come to the same conclusion?

Our politicians are wolves and we are the sheep, and it's time to take back what we no longer have. The only question is how we take that first step.
