FCC Censorship of the Internet
New Rules, Same Bullsh*t from our "Find a way" Republican Censorship Committees.
Your rights to voice your opinion on the internet with the use of free websites, blogs, and social media might be coming to a close. We can say goodbye to the free-market of Internet neutrality and say goodbye to our online freedom of speech, if certain lobbyists and politicians get their way.The FCC and the Republican party are attempting to pass new Internet rules and regulations to keep people like me and millions of others from excising our freedom of speech openly on the internet. Not by stopping us from making posts like this one, but by making it almost impossible to find us in search engine results.
What once was a free-marketplace to compete for rankings, using keywords and content, will be changed to "whoever pays the most for ranking results, will win." That's if these Republicans get their way with their new laws and rules for the FCC to implement.
Let's be real. I'll admit openly here and now that I am not a reporter, (duh) I am not part of the press, (duh) and what I write is purely opinionated. (super duh)
I use the free system of Blogger to write and I enjoy what I do. I admit that most of my articles are rather strong worded. I'll admit to the fact I am anti-republican, errr... actually anti-bullshit to be honest, republicans just happen to fall into that category much more often than democrats.
No matter what, considering everything I write or say, I'm legally exercising my freedom of speech. It's a right I'm allowed to utilize and damn it, I utilize it!
Now what the FCC and a few Republicans want to see done is the erasure of our rights by excluding people like me from ranking in search engine results. Making it possible for companies who pay a fee, to out rank people like me, no matter if I have better content, or better rankings.
One of my many other blogs outranks several better-known websites. My content is good and my keyword structure is very competitive, so I tend to land on first page search engine results. Now if they implement this new rule set, I will lose my status to companies paying to earn the same spot I worked to obtain.
My websites too, would and could lose what rankings they have due to others "paying money" to outrank me, which is a sneaky and bastardly tactic! I worked hard to earn my rankings!
One of my websites, Laptoptester.com sometimes manages to earn top ranks in search engine results. I would lose a little tiny bit of $$ monthly if this FCC change was to take place, and I certainly couldn't compete money-wise against websites like Cnet, who could easily pay for an advantage.
Fair? Heck no, but this is how things must be done to keep the population quiet and to allow the empty cans who rattle the most, loud and viewable.
Let's be fair though, ever since Google implemented the Panda Algorithm a few years ago, bloggers and those using free systems to write blogs lost substantial rankings. Many website owners reported huge losses in profit due to the new agitator for search engine results. Many people claimed the Government pushed Google for those changes, and who knows, maybe they did.
A few years ago, our Government even tried to block people from writing posts that were anti-government and to curb ordinary people from earning huge profits from working the internet to their advantage.
Now though, this seems to be more about big business and censorship. Another move by "Big Brother" to erode away at our rights with little bites here and there, until we find ourselves looking back and wondering how it all happened.
The FCC and this Republican Censorship Committee should disclose the facts of their agenda, and the reasoning behind them. This isn't about helping anyone, or keeping neutrality neutral, its about keeping the masses quiet and making posts like this one, impossible to read, by making it impossible to find.
