Russian Planes make threatening Flyovers on California Coast

Russian provocation increased by new threatening flyovers

The newest events of Russian military jets flying into the 12 mile radius of international waters off the California coast spurred immediate reaction by the USAF. A U.S. F-15 fighter jet intercepted the Russian strategic bomber that made the flight. Spurring questions of the actions and intentions of such risky behavior by Russia.

Furthermore, Gen. Herbert Carlisle made a statement that this was nothing new and that there has been an increase in Russian patrols and military aircraft flying close to California.

"It's a combination of things that's to demonstrate their capability to do it," Carlisle said.

Interesting enough, Russia and the United States have both been adding to the provocative actions steaming from the Ukrainian issue. U.S. bombers just recently flew over a zone of Chinese airspace, shortly after Russian jets were intercepted by the RAF over EU designated zones. Compiled together, these threats carried out on both sides only further escalates the Ukrainian issue, and erodes at any chance for a peaceful outcome.
